Dial Medicali’s manufacturing is traditionally focused on external fixation components; a wide range of external fixators, which result suitable for each treatment need, is available. Among the most recent and innovative products, there is the exapodalic fixator iFIXation, whose peculiarity results in the combination of its components and the image acquisition software. Therefore, iFIXation can be considered one of the simplest and most reliable systems available on the market for the treatment of trauma and complex deformities of long bones. Recently Dial Medicali’s team dealt with the development and launch on the market of a fixator (T-Fix) specific for emergency and trauma care, whose main application is the temporary stabilization of polytraumatized patients. T-Fix is completely MRI safe, which represents an essential feature to guarantee an appropriate diagnostic analysis of the patient.
The RRS is a circular external fixator, a modern variant of the Ilizarov fixator, whose original principles are retained. Due to its complete hardware, which includes pre-assembled, user-friendly functional components, the system allows for any type of bone stabilisation.
It is particularly indicated for the treatment of complex fractures of the lower and upper limbs, for the treatment of pseudoarthrosis and for the correction of bone deformities.
The rings, made of aluminium alloy, ensure high mechanical stability; they are available in diameters from 100 to 260mm in full, half ring 5/8 and 3/8 ring configurations with a double row of holes to facilitate the connection of the different elements. For patients with allergies or who need to undergo instrumental studies, RRS also has connection elements in titanium and composite material.

PinFix is a modern bone half-pin, which was specifically developed for external fixation. Its features guarantee a great long-term stability and the reduction of osteolysis. Moreover, PinFix is made of ISO 5832/1 stainless steel, which gives elasticity to the product. PinFix are available with different diameters, thread lengths and conical/cylindrical configuration: moreover, it is possible to choose half-pins with Hydroxyapatite coating, depending on their application.
PinFix are self-tapping and can be self-drilling too. In case of use of self-drilling half-pins, it is recommended to pre-perforate with a drill bit whose diameter is appropriate to the pin caliber. PinFix is provided in sterile single package.
TECHNICALS
The emergency fixator T-Fix was developed to satisfy the requirement of the orthopaedic market of having a ready to use and MRI safe device for a simple, fast and safe temporary stabilization of fractures in polytraumatized patients. The versatility of the system allows its application for upper and lower limbs, for pelvis stabilization, in both paediatric and adult patients. T-Fix fully answers to each real need of emergency surgery: simplicity, reliability, stability. The system results simple and fast to be assembled thanks to its reduced number of components, which can be combined to obtain complex stabilizations too. MRI safe and radiotransparent materials guarantees reliability. T-Fix is one of the most performant temporary fixators in terms of primary and secondary mechanical stability.

iFIXation is a modern computer-assisted exapodalic system, based on image acquisition. iFIXation represents a development of the traditional circular fixator RRS, with whom it is fully compatible. The combination of its complete and functional hardware with the advanced and user friendly software makes iFixation versatile and particularly indicated for both trauma and correction of complex multi-planar deformities, in adult and paediatric patients. The system consists of circular and semicircular external supports, which are attached to the bone through Kirschner wires and bone half-pins. Rings are interconnected with six telescopic rods (struts), whose lengthening/shortening allows the multiplanar movement of each ring with respect to the other and the consequent alignment of the bone segments. iFIXation guarantees a great mechanical stability thanks to its 9mm thick rings. Peculiarities of the system are free positioning struts (respecting stability constraints) and the temporary use of three reference spheres for radiographic analysis, which results extremely simplified.
RailFix is a monolateral external fixator, which results particularly indicated for bone lengthening and transport, in both paediatric and adult patients. The system consists of a rail with two or more clamps for half-pins fixation. Clamps can move and slide over the rail thanks to a compression/distraction element. Mechanical configuration of RailFix guarantees the linear lengthening of the bone. The system also includes a component for the axial dynamization of the considered bone segment. There is a monolateral fixator with reduced size (Mini RailFix), specifically designed for forearm.

MiniFix is a rational external minifixator specifically designed for stabilizing fractures of little bones, such as foot and hand bones. It is a complete system including small clamps, microrods and K-wires, whose combination allows obtaining an osteosynthesis product able to treat the most complex trauma until healing. Therefore, MiniFix results extremely versatile and easy to be applied. At the same time, it guarantees high mechanical stability allowing a mini-invasive surgical technique.
